I beg to differ: I have lived in Italy for five years,
and if you know how often one eats pizza there you
have an idea of how many Italian pizzas I've eaten!
And yet... the best pizzas I have eaten were in Greece!

It's true, the basic pizza recipies come originally from
Napoli, but even in Italy they will admit that the
modern wide variety of pizzas is an American development.

The difference between Italian and Greek pizza is
the bread (Greek bread base is more spongey) and the
cheese: Italian pizza uses mozarella whereas Greek
pizzas have a cheese layer of a Gouda, Edam type cheese.

Italians invented the pizza, Americans modified it,
and Greeks perfected it!!
