I'm not totally sure, but I know that if you marry in another church, this puts you out of good standing with the orthodox church. I found out because I'm getting married next year and my fiance is orthodox. I haven't been christended in any church and so am considering this so that he may maintain his 'rights' by marrying in the greek church. We have considered a civil wedding, but i don't know what the church says about it.
