I've suspected for years that letters I've sent to Athens which were not received by my friend, were mishandled by the Greek post office. I've never had a problem with letters sent within the U.S. I also recently sent a small envelope with photos to Athens and my friend did not receive it after several weeks. In addition, a few packages my friend sent to me were ripped open by the time I received in NY.
