: Hello,
: My husband and I named our baby girl COnstantina Maria, but recently someone told us we should have it the other way around, Maria Constantina, because Mary (the Virgin Mary) should come first.
: Has anyone heard of this rule? Should we change it?
: Thanks for your help!

Christina,

I have never heard of such a thing! There are NO "rules"! Don't listen to people's idle and thoughtless chatter. You've given your daughter two beautiful christian names. They're beautiful just the way they are as "Constantina Maria". It does not matter one "iota" which name is first. (And no the Virgin Mary does not mind one bit!! She prefers that we focus on striving to be true and proper christians just as she and her beloved Son want us to be.)

Joanna.
