Lena is right. I have a dictionary of foreign words in the Greek language (by Hlias Konstantinou, publishing house: epikairotita, 1992) with a statistics. According to this source, concerning 4311 Greek words the following are the most important languages from which these words have their origin:
- Italian: 957 words
- Turkish: 904
- French: 788
- Latin: 551
- English: 290
- Venetian: 173
- Hebrew or Aramaic: 97
- Arabic: 81
