Theony;

Another way of looking at your confusing dilema is:
You are blessed for you are bicultural and probably bilingual.
In other words "we" hyphenated ethnics, are a unique blend of "Greek" and
usually the predominately "WASP" culture if I may call it that... We, by
self examination and choice have to define this blend...Yes part of you is and will
always be "Greek" just as a part of you is and will always be "Australian".
Your "Greekness" can not be defined by how Greeks in Greece treat you... even
Greeks living there have and are undergoing cultural transformations everyday.
Even your parents that were born in Greece (and who probably have transported
the Greek values of their own circumstances and of the time they left Greece) are
not the same culturally as the Greeks of Greece today. Your parents have also
been changed by living outside Greece...So don't worry about how others
(in Greece or elsewhere) define your Greekness. Just define it to yourself
for yourself, the way it feels comfortable to you. How comfortable you are
or become in weaving seamlessly betwen the two languages and cultures is your
own goal to accomplish. Best of luck...
