: : WE WERE FORCED TO MAKE ONLY TURKISH FOODS WHILE BEING UNDER THEIR RULE FOR 400 YEARS!!!!!!! BAKLAVA IS NOT GREEK> IT IS TURKISH.

: : Hope it helps?

: : I have many wonderful recipes for Greek delights to make for dessert if you want them. Just email. Yassas!

: : Yasas. I am sure that the Greek were NOT forced to make only Turkish foods. Because the history science says that Turks let every nation, (when ruling) to believe it's own God, no compulsion, no forbidding. So why Greeks were forced on that subject?

Hi,
This comment on being "forced to make only Turkish
foods" during the occupation is indicative of the
many widespread ignorance of Greeks about the
Turkish rule. Other widely held yet erroneous
beliefs regard religious
repression and even the suppression of the Greek
language! The fact is, that these distorted
views of the past are actively enhanced through
misinformation by the Greek education system.
The bad relations between Greece and Turkey are
a direct result.
