Yes there is a Greek Mafia, however it is very low key, due to such factors as they were not glamourized in movies and things like that. The Greek Mafia in itself does come from the italian mafia in that the first greeks involved in organized crime worked for the italians, as do many now, however there is still a group of very "well to do greek businessmen" in america who have made their money through a seperate organized crime group the greek mafia. A little secret, look at the wrist of a greek man, and an italian man, if it is burned, then they are quite possibly connected to a mafia, if there is an x on the wrist......Greek Mafia. The Greek Mafia typically only kills for one reason......MONEY....that's what all of us greeks want, and nothing will stop us from getting it. When a Greek Mobster "puts a hit on someone" it is very painful, however only a few greeks in the organization actually do the killing....the main operations of the greek mafia are money laundering, insider traiding, racketeering, and other things along those lines.
