since the topic has been revisited I must comment....Elizabeth STILL has not ever answered the last post from the "Re: Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs" postings.
Elizabeth, not to give you a hard time..but you sure had a lot to say in the earlier posts without answering this final question from Nikos:
"Please tell us what it means to be a Western European country, an example of this, and how Greece differs (you been asked this question before.)"
: I agree with you. I wonder what the monks would have been chanting if the Turks had taken their revenge on the real killers (the people of Moudros) rather than the monks. I bet the monks wouldn't be praying for their lost souls for the last 200 years. (By the way regarding the womens voting rights topic from our previous messages, take a look at this website. It is a European database containing womens' suffrage in Europe. Greek women received the right to vote in local elections in 1924.

: : What a bunch of losers! Imagine...these jerks were praying for something negative to happen to innocent people. This is really evil. Does ANYONE really believe these people commune with God?
: : : Take a look at this article on a curse that was placed by Greek monks on Mt. Athos on the people of Moudros Limnos. Apparently, the monks have been chanting since Ottoman times for the people of this town "to never sleep again". http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/europe/newsid_1454000/1454197.stm
