Greek has plenty of words of foreign origin. Here are some examples:

Arabic words: khabar, mashallah, naryile

Turkish: karagozis, boyia, khanoumisa/khanoumaki

Persian: khali, satrapi, papoutsi, pydzama, khaki, karpouzi, divani, dervisi, tembeli,

Italian: kannela

French: maghazi, mayo, decolte,

English: humor (I can't stand hearing this one in Greek!)

: Can anybody please help me with the following:
: we all know English contains many Greek words, but does
: the Greek language contain any words of foreign origin?
: I'd be especially interested any Turkish words which may
: have entered in normal Greek usage.

: Thanks
