Joanna, you are correct. Faith and deeds go hand in hand. It is not enough to just say you beleive you need to BE Christian. Yes. But, accepting false teachings is not necessary. Accepting other teachings to avoid looking 'fanatic' is wrong as well. Many saints were martyred for Christ, and most of us cannot even handle being called 'fanatics', 'idoloters' or 'extremists' by complete strangers on an internet bulletin board dedicated to something as vain and meaningless as a language and history of cool mythology and philosophers. Sad...
: I can see that you're a zealot -is it FOR the Orthodox Church or is it just AGAINST the Catholic pope?
: Please let's not go overboard. You can be a zealot if you like but outbursts such as this do not achieve anything... anyway, who is really Orthodox or more pointedly Christian in this world? Are we truly Christian -be it Orthodox or Catholic- or just in name only? That is, do we participate in the Holy sacraments on a very regular basis and attend Church every Sunday and on Feast Days-when we can, and do we follow Christ's teachings? If not then do we really love our own denomination? Are we really Christian?
: Let's practise what we believe first and then look outside of ourselves. Infact you will find that a TRUE Orthodox Christian will not be as aggressive on the verbal front.
