If I may offer my opinion: I don't agree that living in a country other than Greece makes it difficult to use a Greek name. People of every culture do it (Imad, Vikas, Jose -- 3 friends who come to mind immediately).
I know many Greek-Americans who use one name, every day, no matter where they are geographically: Eleni, Demitri, Ilias, Vaso. . . What's the point of giving a Greek name if you aren't going to use it?
