This issue is strictly political. Turkey wants to control the island as much as Greece. Now the most effective approach would be to discuss the issues - what are the barriers to accomplishng the goal for the common good? What strategy would need to be implemented to establish peace on the island? The Ottoman Empire doesn't exist anymore so let's move beyond this to address today's pertinant issues. There is no need for religious hostility. And yes, Greeks can be of any denomination - let's attack the ISSUES, not the religion. Ignorance is unacceptable.
