: i recently had some greek coffee at the new hellas cafe in greektown in detroit. i was wondering what all was in it and how you make it. thanks
Your basic greek coffe is finely ground coffe (1-2 tsp / espresso sized, or even sligthly smaller, cup), sugar according to taste (0-2 tsp/ cup)and the wanted amount of water (small espressocup ful). This mixture is nearly brought to a boil (til the foam starts to rise) in a small pan called a brik. The brik resembles a small saucepan. The coffe powder in itself is more finely ground than espresso coffe, infact it is the consistence of pure cocoa powder.
