You mention a certain behaviour that I have noticed with Greeks here in Germany, too. Those silly patterns seem to be international! :-)
And you are right if you say that the hint "You are not really one of us" is often used playfully, but it is still very annoying, isn't it?
Well, living in two cultures or countries respectively should be a great opportunity, nevertheless it leads to a paranoid attitude....
