Norfolk, and the city next to it, Virginia Beach has some greek community, for you. No, not everyone was born in Greece. Many greeks I know are nonetheless fluent in the language and of course proud of their culture. There are one or two very nice Orthodox churches in Norfolk, with websites on the Internet. The one on Granby hosts a Greek Festival on May 16-19, which is fun. A good Greek food restaurant in Norfolk is called "Orapax" in the Ghent area. The Norfolk/Virginia Beach area has many international community/ people who move here from other areas, due to businesses, military, etc. It is so diverse. You will meet greeks and other people who have diverse experiences whether they are from here, or elsewhere. If you are not Orthodox, there are millions of churches here. But contact the church on Granby, that should help you out. Cheers.
