People who opposed Coon were of the belief that Greeks mixed with people in Asia Minor. So "must" implies the certainty of there vewpoint, not the certainty of Greek mixture with Asiatics. If it were already certain that Greeks mixed with Asiatics, then "The Greeks" in The Races of Europe would have been a pointless writing.
